Delay to full HIP implementation

The Government has announced a delay to the proposed requirement for Home Information Packs (HIPs) to be fully complete before marketing of a property can commence.

Since December 2007 all homes coming on to the market require a HIP. Currently marketing can commence once a HIP has been ordered.  The rules were due to change on 1 June 2008 requiring a fully completed HIP to be available before marketing could start.

A fully completed HIP will not be required until the end of the year.
